  • TV STUFF: 'Erin Brockovich' Everywhere

    HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 19, 2001 -- Looks like "Erin Brockovich" is ready for her TV assault.

    Universal Pictures has sold the basic cable rights for the Julia Roberts starrer to TNT for $7 million, Daily Variety reports.

    Add to the $18 million that NBC paid last April for the network rights, "Erin Brockovich" has made a cool $25 mil altogether for the studio just in the area of tube broadcast.

    NBC will start running the film in November 2002 and will own the rights to the flick until 2005. Thereafter, TNT will get "Erin" for two years.

    FEELING THE PINCH: After NBC and CNN, ABC is the latest casualty of a slower economy. Reuters is reporting that the network is planning to trims its budget by $12 million to $20 million in its news division due to a downward spiraling ad market.
