Daily Variety reports that the release date of "Moulin Rouge," a musical from director Baz Luhrmann ("William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet") and costarring Ewan McGregor, has been moved from late 2000 to summer 2001. The film, set in 19th century Paris, reportedly features scorching song-and-dance routines from flame-haired star Kidman, who plays a courtesan. We'll have to wait a little longer to see if Kidman and company can resurrect the long-afflicted musical genre.
