Manhattan police arrested Combs in December of 1999 following a nightclub shooting that left three people wounded. Combs' defense attorneys are expected to deliver their closing arguments late in the day on Monday, but attorneys for Anthony "Wolf" Jones, 34, a co-defendant in the case, have already offered up their opinions on the integrity of one of the witnesses. McGraw allegedly attempted to pull a police sheriff off of Chesney, who was riding a police horse. Chesney allegedly had permission to ride the horse from the owner's daughter and refused to dismount when ordered by the Erie County sheriff. McGraw faces charges of assault, resisting arrest and a harassment violation. If the judge can't return, the trial will be declared a mistrial and proceedings will start all over again, prosecutors told The Associated Press. McGraw is married to country superstar Faith Hill, who has been a regular spectator at the trial.

Lawyers for the troubled actor were unable to reach a plea agreement with prosecutors on the drug possession charges that stem from the actor's arrest last November in a Palm Springs hotel room, where police allegedly found cocaine and the prescription drug Valium. The arrest came three months after Downey's release from prison, where he spent a year on drug charges. Downey now faces a trial and could go to jail for almost five years if convicted. Outside the court on Thursday, Downey's lawyer Daniel Brookman told Reuters that prosecutors "have made an offer that does call for some sort of restraint on Mr. Downey's freedom."
