He's got the look down pat.
They should form a Justice League...of acting!
Much like the recent <em>Reservation Road</em>, director David Gordon Green’s pensive adaptation of Stuart O’Nan’s bestseller is a painfully sad but occasionally predictable look at life, death and vengeance in small-town USA.
If it weren’t for a few powerful performances from an A-list cast, <em>Reservation Road </em> would venture dangerously close to soapy movie-of-the-week territory.
Moviegoers wanting a few pre-Halloween scares flocked to see 30 Days of Night this weekend. The vampire flick, starring Josh Hartnett, opened in the top spot at the North American box office with $16 million.
Flanked thematically by last year’s Best Picture winner (<em>The Departed</em>) and maybe this year’s (<em>American Gangster</em>), <em>We Own the Night</em> would be small-fry--even if it is just a decent cops-and-the-city drama.
