HBO’s ‘Friends of God: A Road Trip With Alexandra Pelosi’ on Thursday

Her mother may be Congress’ new Speaker of the House, but that’s not stopping Alexandra Pelosi from being a hard-hitting—and not always politically correct—documentary filmmaker.

Joining the ranks of other recent HBO non-fictional specials such as Tsunami, the Aftermath and Spike Lee’s When the Levees Broke, is Pelosi’s Friends of God road trip, which airs tonight on the network. In the documentary, she takes to the streets to meet evangelical Christians and learn more about what their influence could mean for the future of America. Offering snapshots of evangelical America, the show will likely adopt the leftward lean inherent to the Pelosi name but will also aim to offer a straight-up view of how split our country truly is in these times.

Friends of God: A Road Trip With Alexandra Pelosi airs tonight at 9/8c on HBO.
