Out of all the emotions, Disney is experiencing pure joy this week. The charming and effortlessly creative film, ‘Inside Out 2,” has beat ‘Frozen II’ in the box office to become the highest-grossing animated movie of all time.
The film’s box office numbers are expected to keep rising, especially since it hasn’t been released in Japan yet—a market that added nearly $33 million to the $850.5 million global earnings of ‘Inside Out’ back in 2015.
But the success of this beloved film is more than just box office numbers.

‘Inside Out 2’ Has Us In Our Feels
Joining Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, and Lewis Black in ‘Inside Out 2’ are Tony Hale and Liza Lapira, who take over the roles of Fear and Disgust. Additionally, Maya Hawke (Anxiety), Paul Walter Hauser (Embarrassment), Ayo Edeberi (Envy), and Adèle Exarchopoulos (Ennui) are wonderful new additions, making this sequel even more enjoyable by introducing more characters into the beloved world.

Reflecting the spirit of the original movie, ‘Inside Out 2’ follows the characters as they embark on a mission to return to headquarters to save Riley. While the initial magic of exploring Riley’s intricate inner world can’t be matched, this adventure introduces new locations, such as a prison-like area containing Riley’s secrets and the recesses of her mind where Joy has been discarding many of Riley’s bad memories. With Anxiety and Joy causing quite a stir, Riley experiences significant effects from their antics.
