Jason Momoa honours fighter pal with Haka war dance

Aquaman star Jason Momoa took part in a Haka war dance honouring his pal, the mixed martial artist Mark Hunt, ahead of his next bout.
Jason and Mark struck up a friendship while training together in the Heartbreak Gym in Queensland, Australia.
The 37-year-old actor has been filming Aquaman down under, while the New Zealand fighter, 43, has been in the country training ahead of his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match-up with Derrick Lewis next month (Jun17).
Video posted to YouTube showed Jason and other topless gym goers performing the war dance, a tradition among the indigenous peoples of New Zealand and the Pacific islands, for Mark as a send-off ahead of his fight.
The dance is famously performed by the New Zealand rugby team ahead of matches.
Both Jason and Mark are of Samoan descent, a Pacific island with its own traditional version of the Haka.
Before performing the Haka, Jason posted a picture on Instagram of himself posing with the UFC star, writing that he had been “working hard…getting ready for our HAKA. To show our appreciation for the man (Mark).”
According to editors at TMZ.com, Jason is planning to attend Mark’s big fight against Derrick Lewis, which takes place in Auckland, New Zealand on 11 June (17).
