Gal Gadot Turned Down Role in ‘Quantum of Solace’

Actress Gal Gadot turned down the chance to become a Bond girl because she thought she was too serious for such a frivolous role.

The new mum was a student when she was approached about a part in Quantum of Solace, and decided to stick to her studies.

“I said, ‘No way’,” the Israeli beauty tells W magazine. “I said, ‘I’m studying law and international relations. I’m way too serious and smart to be an actress, and besides, the script is all in English’. I spoke English, but I wasn’t comfortable with it.”

She went on to make her Hollywood blockbuster debut a year later in 2009’s Fast and Furious, and returned to the franchise as Gisele for Fast 5, Fast & Furious 6, and Furious 7.

Those roles helped land her the part of Wonder Woman – after a terrifying audition.

Gal insists when she screen tested for the comic book part she had no idea what she was auditioning for, other than it was a project director Zack Snyder was working on.

“When I auditioned for Batman v Superman, I didn’t know it was for Wonder Woman,” she explains. “Zack Snyder asked me to do a camera test. That was torture. They were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us.

“Waiting is my enemy Number One (sic), and I was losing my mind. So, I decided to put on Beyonce. ‘Who runs the world? Girls!’ I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyonce!”
