10 Horror Movies To Watch On Your Next Date Night

Looking for something to do on your next date night? Why not watch a scary movie? There’s nothing better than huddling together on the couch or in the theater in terror. Get the popcorn ready, and maybe an extra pair of pants, and pick a movie!

1. The Woman In Black 2 Angel of Death (out January 2nd)

The Woman in Black was terrifying. 40 years after that film, orphans and their two caretakers, Eve and Jean (Phoebe Fox and Helen McCroy), move to the desolate abandoned Eel Marsh House; an odd but seemingly safe location. But, once children start disappearing, it seems things are just as scary (if not scarier) than before.

2. The Shining

Turn on Netflix and watch this classic if you’re looking for a movie that’s equal parts terrifying and good (though the book is 5x scarier). We’re not sure what creeped us out the most: a crazed Jack Nicholson, Danny doing Tony’s Redrum voice, or those twins.

3. The Conjuring

The Clap Game isn’t meant to be scary in this film about a family home that is haunted and requires the services of two paranormal experts, but it’s probably going to make you jump at least 4 times while watching.

4. Paranormal Activity

The first of many films, this movie is so freaky because it kind of feels real, if you believe in paranormal things. The characters seem totally normal and when things start getting weird, they react just how all of us would.

5. The Exorcist

We are still having nightmares about every minute of this movie, the head-spinning and crawling down the stairs like a crab.

6. Sinister

Not all home videos are as fun as they sound. Like “Backyard BBQ” is NOT what you think it is.

7. Insidious and Insidious: Chapter 2

Insidious was creepy on it’s own. Then the second chapter came out and proved sequels can be better the original and tie things up with horrifying little bows, that will make you never want to sleep again.

8. A Nightmare on Elm Street

We’re not even safe in our dreams?! Why can’t scary movies leave things that are sacred alone!

9. Saw

Anytime someone asks us if we want to play a game, we still cringe in fear. What’s worse, being kidnapped by a crazed serial killer or being locked in a bathroom with only the option to cut your foot off for escape? Oh wait, it’s the same thing.

10. Psycho

The shower scene to end all shower scenes. Never shower alone, folks!
