In the “What took so long?” news of the day, Brian Wilson’s life rights have been acquired by River Road Entertainment (but he retains the right to live, presumably) — and more importantly, his biopic is in the works.
The true story of the most famous, troubled and famously troubled Beach Boy’s life will be written for the screen by Oren Moverman, who aside from having a cool last name has a great screenplay to his credit: the Oscar-nominated 2009 war drama The Messenger.
The as-yet-untitled film will reportedly cover Wilson’s well-documented triumphs (Pet Sounds and Smile, et al.) and lows (drug use and a nervous breakdown, et al.).
