A couple weeks ago, Kevin Costner dropped out of Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained — but it looks a replacement has already been found: Kurt Russell.
Russell, who worked with Tarantino on his Grindhouse movie Death Proof, is reportedly very close to joining the star-studded cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and, of course, Samuel L. Jackson.
Russell would play Ace, a sadistic plantation owner in the 1800s who enjoys punishing slaves, in Django, which centers on a recently freed slave (Foxx) who tries to track down his wife with the unlikely help of a German bounty hunter (Waltz).
Ironically, the news comes just hours after a story broke about Waltz suffering a dislocated pelvis bone (we can all agree that a mere “ouch” doesn’t do that injury justice) while working with a horse on the set of Django.
