After a lengthy and exhaustive search, Fox has tapped Irish director John Moore for coveted job of helming Die Hard 5, Deadline reports. Moore, whose oeuvre includes such well-regarded films as Max Payne and the 2006 Omen remake, was the studio’s favorite to direct, but had to win over a more skeptical Bruce Willis, who, Deadline says, “has been very hands-on in the selection of Die Hard directors.” Fox hopes to get started on the production, which is set to film in suddenly uber-trendy Russia, as soon as possible. The last entry in the Die Hard series, 2007’s Live Free or Die Hard, earned over $383 million worldwide.
Next up on Willis’ to-do list is to find a director for a planned RED sequel. The actor is said to be drafting a Craigslist ad as we speak.
