Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs feels “blessed” to have his Bad Boy Records reunion documentary premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in his native New York.

The hip-hop mogul’s new project, titled Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: The Bad Boy Story, gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at his record label and the impact the 1997 murder of his protege Notorious B.I.G. had on the company.

The film, directed by Daniel Kaufman, also chronicles Diddy’s efforts to bring his crew back together for their first reunion shows in Brooklyn last year (16). The Bad Boy Family Reunion gigs, which expanded to a full tour, featured Lil Kim, Faith Evans, Mase, French Montana, Total, 112, and Mario Winans, among others.

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: The Bad Boy Story will now make its debut at Robert De Niro’s 2017 Tribeca Film Festival next month (Apr17), and Diddy couldn’t be more proud.

“I am blessed to be introducing our film at the Tribeca Film Festival,” he shared in a statement issued to Billboard.com.

“Tribeca brings the biggest names in entertainment and culture together with visionaries from across industries to celebrate the power of storytelling. There is no better place to share the story behind the Bad Boy movement and this unprecedented musical event.”

The news was announced on Wednesday (08Mar17), on the eve of the 20th anniversary of Biggie’s death.

Diddy marked the tragedy on Thursday (09Mar17) with a video tribute on Instagram, in which he told fans, “Hey what’s up everybody, today is March 9th. Twenty years ago today we lost the greatest rapper of all time, The Notorious B.I.G. Today we’re gonna celebrate his life through his music and through his legacy.”

He went on to encourage fans to record their favourite Biggie verses and share the clips online as part of a new social media campaign in the late rapper’s memory.
