Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon Pair Up for Romantic Comedy

Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon are teaming up to star in an untitled Cameron Crowe romantic comedy adventure, Variety reports.

Details of the project are being kept under wraps, although it was the subject of a bidding war amongst five studios, says Variety. Columbia was the eventual winner.

This is the first time Crowe has worked with Columbia since 2000’s Almost Famous. The director–who also wrote and will produce the upcoming project–made his biggest box office success, Jerry Maguire, for Columbia in 1996. That film was nominated for five Oscars; it won one for Cuba Gooding Jr. in the Best Supporting Actor category.

The new film will start shooting in January.

Stiller next will be seen in Tropic Thunder, which he also co-wrote, produced and directed. He is currently shooting Night at the Museum 2: Escape from the Smithsonian.

Witherspoon‘s upcoming projects include Four Christmases, opposite Vince Vaughn. She is also voicing characters for DreamWorks Animation’s Monsters vs. Aliens.
