Ben Stiller Hopes ‘Zoolander 2’ Will Shoot Next Year

ALT TEXTMaybe we’ll finally know if Derek Zoolander discovered more to life that being really, really ridiculously good looking.

Ben Stiller told MTV that he and Justin Theroux are hard at work at putting the finishing touches on the sequel to everyone’s favorite male-model adventurer, Zoolander.

“We’re working on it, we’re working on it,” he said. “Hopefully next year we’re going to be making it. But we’ve been full steam ahead on it,” said Stiller at the New York premiere of MegaMind, which he produced.

Back in October at New York Comic Con, Theroux, who hopes to direct the film, told MTV some other details about Blue Steel’s next adventure. “[We] start off with them [Zoolander and Hansel (Owen Wilson)] in a pretty bad place,” he said. “They’re about to ring 40’s bell. They have to claw their way back into the fashion industry in some way or another.”

Currently, Jonah Hill is set to play the villain in the film. And on top of that, Will Ferrell‘s Mugatu will be, hopefully, making a return. “Fingers crossed, anything is possible in Hollywood, but I think you’re going to see Mugatu. We are planning on seeing Mugatu,” said Theroux. “There are a couple of new villains that step onto the stage, which we are all very happy about. And yes, Jonah is the inspiration for one of them.”

Bottom line, all of this sounds awesome. Zoolander is one of those movies that gets funnier each time you watch it and I’m sure the sequel will be a whole orange-mocha-frappucino-full of funny. (Sorry, I had to).
