‘Cars’ Races to Annie Triumph

Motoring comedy Cars has sped ahead of its Oscar competitors by claiming the Best Animated Feature award at the Annie Awards in Los Angeles last night.

The winner of the award, which is presented by the International Animated Film Society, has gone on to claim the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature every year since it was created in 2001.

Cars will compete against Monster House and Happy Feet in the fiercely contested Oscar category later this month.
