Chan-wook Park’s ‘Stoker’ Gets Matthew Goode

Matthew Goode According to Variety, Matthew Goode is currently in talks to join Chan-wook Park‘s (Oldboy) Stoker, a film that already stars Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman. The story follows “a teenage girl who, while mourning the death of her father, must deal with the unexpected appearance of a mysterious uncle,” with that “mysterious uncle” potentially being Goode, who was picked for the part over some pretty talented competition: Colin Firth (who apparently pulled out after being cast a few months ago), James Franco and Michael Fassbender. But then again, who isn’t considering Colin Firth or James Franco or Michael Fassbender for their movie these days? Anyway, Goode gives off a great “Wow, there’s something wrong with that guy but I can’t really tell what” vibe, so his casting seems pretty ideal for a film like this one.
