After eight years we might be seeing a Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 3. Our favorite gaggle of pants-sharing bffs are actually all still best friends in real life and really into doing a third film.
Blake Lively appeared in a recent episode of The Jesse Cagle Interview, which is hosted by the Editorial Director of People and Entertainment Weekly. When Cagle asked her about Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants and if she’d ever do another movie, we were met with a very pleasant surprise.
“There’s a strong chance there might be a third,” said Blake. “The four of us are still best friends. To be able to create something together again has always been a dream of ours. But it would have to be something that really made sense. If you wait this long to do a third movie, it needs to honor the story and the legacy.”
The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants films are based on a series of books, and there are currently five novels. That means there’s definitely room for three more movies.
The cast has been keeping busy since the last film aired. Alexis Bledel just finished filming Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life. America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn recently worked on episodes of Superstore and Inside Amy Schumer, and Blake Lively is perhaps the most successful of the lot. After ending the massively successful series Gossip Girl, the starlet has been featured in some major motion picture films, most recently The Shallows.
