Disney has been focusing a lot of their effort on live action remakes of some of our favorite classic films. Recently, the company has tackled The Jungle Book with tons more on the horizon including Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and The Lion King.

Not a whole lot is known about Disney’s live action Winnie The Poohbut recent reports have told us that it’s supposed to be pretty similar to Seth MacFarlane’s buddy film Ted (minus the vulgarities because this is Disney, after all). The film will be called Christopher Robin and follows the boy who befriends the lovable bear as an adult.

Winnie the Pooh was created in the 1920s by A.A.. Milne and featured in a collection of stores called Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner. In 1961, Disney licensed rights to the bear and created four feature films The Tigger Movie, Piglet’s Big Movie, Pooh’s Heffalump Movie and Winnie the Pooh.

The live action adaptation will be directed by Marc Forster, who directed World War Z, with Alex Ross Perry handling the script. Kristen Burr is overseeing the project for the studio.

Another Pooh-related project is also on the horizon. Goodbye Christopher Robin, starring Margot Robbie and Domhnall Gleeson, is currently in the works at Fox Searchlight.
