‘Django Unchained’ Cursed? Fourth Star Drops Out of Quentin Tarantino Western

ALTThe all-star cast of Quentin Tarantino‘s new Western Django Unchained just lost another star. Actor Kurt Russell — who was set to take over the role of slave trainer Ace Woody after Kevin Costner quit — has opted out for unknown reasons.

Django Unchained, which boasts an impressive cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, and Samuel L. Jackson, has had a rotating roster from the start. Initially it was reported that Tarantino was courting Will Smith for the lead role. It eventually went to Foxx. Other casting changes have included Sacha Baron Cohen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, both of whom were unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts.

The movie is currently filming in New Orleans and stars Foxx as the lead role of Django, a slave who sets out to free his wife from the barbarous plantation owner played by DiCaprio.

The movie is slated to be released on Christmas Day. Assuming that doesn’t change too.
