Elvis’s Granddaughter Joins The New ‘Mad Max’

ALTRiley Keough, daughter of Lisa-Marie Presley and granddaughter of the King himself, has nabbed a part in the new Mad Max film. Mad Max: Fury Road is the fourth film in George Miller’s post-apocalyptic franchise, and will pick up the story shortly after where Beyond Thunderdome left off. Miller is producing the project with his Happy Feet collaborator Doug Mitchell. (Yes, the person who directed Mad Max also directed Happy Feet and Babe: Pig In The City. It’s a crazy world.)

Inception star Tom Hardy is stepping into Mel Gibson’s tight leather jacket, and Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult are also set to star in the film. Keough will play one of the “Five Wives”, a group of women who need Max’s protection. Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) and Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) play two of the other “Wives”, along with fellow rock star progeny Zoe Kravitz (daughter of Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet).

Keough’s first film role was this year’s The Runaways, with Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart. But the former model is recently in high demand, shooting The Good Doctor with Orlando Bloom and taking over from Olivia Thirlby in Jack and Diane, both of which will be released in 2011. Mad Max: Fury Road, is set to begin production early next year.
