One minute in the life of Lisbeth Salander would feel like a week for the many of us who dine on the mundane. The below minute-long clip from the upcoming David Fincher film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo depicts the captivating hacker-extraordinaire Salander (Rooney Mara) in many a light. We see her as the victim to the abuse of sick, power-hungry men. We see her as she has collected herself after suffering said abuse: a survivor, a warrior, a superhero (or is she?).
The below clip opens in, of all places, a tattoo parlor, wherein Salander is undergoing the painful process of inking. We also see her martial aptitude, her photographic memory, her position as a “psychological outlier”…yes, for those of you out there yearning to see all the sides of Salander, the below clip does a pretty good job to satisfy.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo opens Dec. 21. Also starring are Daniel Craig, Christopher Plummer and Stellan Skarsgard.
