Hanks, Bigelow in Talks for ‘Frontier’ … Or Is That ‘Dogs’?

ALTTom Hanks is said to be circling Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal‘s feature follow-up to Oscar winner The Hurt Locker.

The new Paramount film, alternately referred to as Triple Frontier and Sleeping Dogs, is an ensemble piece which also saw Sean PennJavier Bardem and Denzel Washington linked in the press earlier this year. No offer to Hanks has been made, according to media sources, but Hanks and Bigelow are said to be talking.

Both Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter‘s Heat Vision blog reported on the story on Tuesday, with Deadline saying the project is set to go into production early next year.

Per Deadline, the story is set in the organized crime haven that exists in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.

There are five primary roles in the script. The involvement of Leonardo DiCaprioChristian Bale and Jeremy Renner has also been the subject of past rumors.

Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven is producing with Bigelow and Boal, and Grant Hill is exec producer.

According to both reports, it is expected that casting will come together quickly.
