If you didn’t believe that The Hunger Games was filled to the brim with some high-powered love triangles, the below clip should be evidence enough. Granted, it doesn’t depict the whole triangle—just the hypotenuse. But that’s the best part.
The clip shows us Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), Hunger Games competitor, trying to win over public support on Caesar Flickerman’s (Stanley Tucci) talk show. After some resilient probing, Peeta eventually admits that he has, indeed, been in love for years…with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence). This comes as a surprise not just to Caesar, not just to the viewing public, but to Katniss herself. This’ll probably make things a bit more complicated come the whole battle-to-the-death ordeal.
