Phil Lord and Chris Miller are rare filmmakers who can straddle the animated and live-action genres. This spring, they directed The Lego Movie, which has made close to half-a-billion dollars worldwide. This Friday marks the release of their action comedy 22 Jump Street, the sequel to 2012’s 21 Jump Street, which reteams Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in their roles as undercover cops. Lord, 37, and Miller, 38, talked to us about their initial hesitation in doing the sequel, the lessons they learned along the way, and whether or not we may see a third installment.
