‘New Moon’ Script Found in the Trash

A humble beauty salon owner will mingle with stars at the New Moon premiere — after she discovered the film’s script in a trash can and handed it in to studio bosses.

Casey Ray, from St. Louis, found the discarded screenplay, along with another script for a venture entitled Memoirs, in a bin while waiting for her boyfriend to finish work.

And rather than leak the film’s plot to fans of the Twilight series, Ray has been praised by the film’s studio Summit Entertainment for her honesty after she came forward with the scripts.

A representative for the studio says, “We thank Ms. Ray for doing the right thing.”

And bosses are so thankful for the return of the script, they have invited Ray to both films’ premieres.

Ray’s lawyer states that although she considered holding on to the New Moon screenplay as a collector’s item, “she didn’t really want to get paid” for the script.

It is not known how the scripts ended up in the bin, although actress Anna Kendrick, who stars in the vampire franchise, was recently filming in a hotel near where the items were found.

However, Kendrick’s rep insists the star wouldn’t leave her scripts in a public trash can.
