Pittsburgh Steelers to Make Cameo Appearance in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

The Dark Knight Rises added a few big names to its cast today. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and a handful of his Steelers teammates are set to appear as extras — football players, naturally — in a scene to be shot at their home stadium, Heinz Field. “From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be like a pre-game, warming-up type thing,” Roethlisberger told the Post-Gazette. “I don’t know the whole concept. There’s a Gotham team, a football game. We’ll be wearing uniforms.” The quarterback played down the role, saying, “I don’t think it will be a big part, it’s not like we’re chasing Batman down or anything.”

Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan might want to be careful about what he reveals to the Steelers players as far as plot details are concerned. They’re not exactly known for discretion.
