‘Prometheus’ Writer Damon Lindelof Rewriting Brad Pitt’s Already-Shot ‘World War Z’

Damon LindelofWorld War Z will be undergoing major reshoots, following a long line of complication following the story’s manifestation. Paramount is bringing on a new screenwriter to craft the script for these reshoots: Prometheus co-writer and Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof.

The post-apocalyptic zombie film been both one of the most anticipated and one of the most dreaded projects on the horizon. From the get-go fans, of the source material — the science fiction novel by Max Brooks — have expressed concern with the developing movie, despite the attachment of promising individuals like Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, and director Marc Foster.

The apprehension is clearly shared by Paramount, as The Hollywood Reporter has posted that the studio is choosing to rope in Lindelof, who is taking script responsibility from Matthew Michael Carnahan. Lindelof’s former leading island man, Matthew Fox, was previously attached to World War Z before opting out. But now that Lindelof is on board, you can bet that Fox is saying to himself, “I have to go back.”

World War Z is opting for a June 2013 release. Lindelof’s Prometheus comes out today.
