Rudd & Mann Returning For Apatow Comedy

Leslie MannStating the obvious – Judd Apatow likes to work with the same people over and over again.

And who could blame him? If I had the opportunity to work with my closest friends on some of the best comedies of the past decade, I would keep using them too.

Looks like Apatow is taking it a step further by not only re-casting his wife Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd for his next movie, but also having them reprise their roles from his 2007 hit Knocked Up. Since the original mainly followed Seth Rogen’s character instead of Rudd or Mann’s, this isn’t exactly a sequel, but more of a spin off. I doubt it will be a prequel since in Knocked Up Rudd and Mann’s children were played by Apatow and Mann’s actual kids (who are absolutely adorable) and they have since grown (as children tend to do). No word on who else will appear in the film, but considering the flack Katherine Heigl gave the movie, I would highly doubt she’ll make a cameo. DAMN.

Apatow will of course write, direct and produce the picture, with Barry Mendel and Clayton Townsend also serving as producers. The sure-to-be awesome film is scheduled for a June 1st, 2012 release and I, for one, could not be more excited.
