Russell Crowe Is ‘The Equalizer’

ALTToday in unwanted remake news, Russell Crowe has signed on to the film adaptation The Equalizer.

The Equalizer, for everyone born after 1975, was a hit CBS series about Edward Woodward’s retired secret agent who atones for his shady past by offering his sleuthing services free to people in need. Russell Crowe signed on for Woodward’s lead role, though the project is currently sans director or script.

The Weinstein Company is developing the remake that was stuck in development hell for years, until someone presumably realized that it was the only franchise left in the world that hadn’t yet been remade. Mace Neufeld is producing, along with Adam Sandler collaborator Alex Siskin and production company Escape Artists.
