‘Things Are Not Always as They Seem’ in New ‘Tinker, Tailor’ Teaser

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy starts off as a simple world-defining ultramystery on which the prevention of World War III is contingent. You know, nothing too big. But then, it becomes so much more.

A retired secret agent (Gary Oldman) is hired by John Hurt‘s character (whom you probably know as either Ollivander from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows or the evil dictator from V for Vendetta) to determine which of four high ranking government officials (one of which is played by Colin Firth) is actually a Soviet mole. After the investigation begins, all things unexpected come into play. Murders. Strangers with messages. People saying, “We’re not so different, you and I.” Okay, maybe this is all relatively expected when it comes to mystery thrillers, but somehow Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy seems to deliver it all in a way that promises to be excessively captivating, intelligent, and fun. Also, Tom Hardy is in it. So, the pros are heavily outweighing whatever the cons might be.

The latest poster speaks for itself: this movie has a ton of promise. As for the trailer…we defy you to watch it and not immediately start distrusting everyone around you.
