The awkwardness is about to ratchet up to 11!

Vince Vaughn has picked his next film project after this summer’s The Internship. According to Variety, he’ll be reteaming with Will Ferrell for a quirky comedy of manners called Daddy’s Home. Ferrell plays a genial radio exec whose life is turned upside down when his wife’s ex-husband, Vaughn, enters his life. Vaughn’s character then strenuously competes with Ferrell for the affection of his children — Ferrell’s stepchildren — just like he’s strenuously competing with Owen Wilson for a job at Google as a fortysomething intern in The Internship. Office politics? Broken-family dynamics? Both need to be deconstructed via Vaughn’s deadpan style, stat.

Also, there is still such a thing as a “radio executive”?

Ferrell’s producing the movie with his longtime creative partner Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, The Other Guys) from a script by Etan Cohen (Men in Black 3), Brian Burns, Chris Henchy, and McKay, with Cohen making his directorial debut.
