Walker and Diesel Set for ‘Fast and Furious 5’

Actor Paul Walker has confirmed reports that he’ll be back for a fourth Fast and the Furious sequel.

The movie hunk, who has played Brian O’Conner in three of the four films in the franchise, felt sure the new film, Fast and Furious, would “close out the franchise,” but the movie’s breathtaking opening-week success has prompted him and producers to change gear and think again.

The film almost doubled estimates when it opened in the U.S. with a whopping $72.5 million haul last weekend, and now Walker is keen to get behind the wheel of the racing film franchise again — for a trip to South America.

Appearing on Los Angeles radio show “Valentine in the Morning” on Friday, he said, “This was supposed to be it… Without question, the way that thing’s opened up, [co-star] Vin [Diesel] and I will be coming back. We’re making a fifth one and we’re going to Brazil. That’s it!

“And I don’t think the best one [film] has been done yet. I think we could easily come back and make the best one.”
