It’s time for round two. Well, not quite, but at least now we know when round two will take place. After grossing nearly four times its production budget despite gripes about the lousy 2D to 3D conversion, Clash of the Titans is ready for its sequel. Warner Bros. announced the second installment’s release date: Clash of the Titans 2 (or Wrath of The Titans) is set to hit theaters on March 30, 2012.
Wrath of the Titans will get a new director, Jonathan Liebesman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), who’s past films are all about the gore, so I’m assuming Wrath is going to get nice and bloody. The sequel will also be shot in legitimate 3D, hopefully avoiding the major grievances that followed round one. Much of cast will also return; heavyweights Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson as well as Sam Worthington and Gemma Arterton have all signed on for the sequel, though newcomers like James Franco and Javier Bardem have been rumored.
