Synopsis

Rising member of Parliament Stephen Collins finds himself drawn into a spiral of lies and deceit after research assistant Sonia Baker accidentally dies in a London Underground station. The circumstances of her death are quickly rumored to involve murder when those around Stephen suspect that employer and assistant had a personal relationship as well, a fact to which Stephen must soon confess. When the media swarms in, journalist and close friend Cal McCaffrey, along with his associate Della Smith, begins piecing the clues together, with editor Cameron Foster trying to keep tabs on his methods. As Cal balances on the edge of the law to get the information he wants, and on the edge of morality while getting involved with Stephen's wife, Anne, the lies behind the truth begin to pile up, and the truth itself begins to unravel.
