I don’t know about you, but I’ve been obsessed with those Twitter threads and TikToks about zodiac signs. I want to know what room I’d be assigned, what character I am, what dessert I’d like, or any of the big variety of things I could be, have, or own based on my zodiac sign. So here’s our take on what current Broadway show you’d be based on your zodiac sign!
Zodiac Broadway Show Pairings
If you’re an Aries… you’re The Music Man!
Hear me out. Aries are charismatic, confident, and adventurous at their best, but can be irresponsible, headstrong, impatient, and reckless. The Music Man follows con man Harold Hill who pretends to be a band organizer and musician to make money with the intent to skip town. His plan is poorly thought out, and he’s made poor choices, but his charisma and confidence helps him avoid being found out. That is until he falls for Marian, the only person who can see right through him. Hill is willing to risk it all for her. It gives warmhearted and courageous Aries for sure. This Broadway show just makes sense!

If you’re a Taurus… you’re Wicked!
Wicked tells the story of two unlikely, and opposite, friends, Elphaba (who shows multiple positive Taurus traits) and Galinda (who shows many negative Taurus traits). The show is the redemption arc to The Wicked Witch of the West. Elphaba is so Taurus because of her defiance and her willpower. That’s what drives the musical’s plot entirely. She’s unapologetic and unyielding in her sense of justice and inclination to do what she believes to be right. Her motives are reasonable and grounded in reality, much like Taurus. Her foil is Galinda, who can be seen as superficial (and some negative Taurus traits like materialistic, selfish, and self-absorbed), but also just further cements Elphaba as not like her. But then, towards the middle of the musical, Galinda asserts herself as a strong and wonderful Taurus.
If you’re a Gemini… you’re Chicago!
Nightclub sensation Velma murders her cheating husband, and Chicago’s slickest lawyer, Billy Flynn, is set to defend her. Until Roxie ends up in prison. Billy takes on her case too and she gets major media attention. It becomes a Roxie and Velma fight for fame. Geminis are independent, animated, social, charming, and clever, much like the ladies of Chicago. But the show does center around deception, cunningness, unpredictability, and impulsiveness, all traits of Geminis.

If you’re a Cancer… you’re Beetlejuice!
Cancers are emotional, but guarded about their feelings. The musical centers around the Maitlands, who are in love, but not emotionally available to acknowledge why they aren’t ready to start a family despite wanting one. When they die and their house is sold to a new family, they call for Beetlejuice’s help. One of these new inhabitants is a “strange and unusual” girl who is dealing with her mom’s death and her father’s neglect. Lydia’s struggle with verbalizing her feelings and the intensity of those feelings, as well as the song “Dead Mom,” is another reason to make the show the Cancer musical. If you’re a Leo… you’re Six!
This musical is a modern retelling of the six wives of Henry VIII. Except it’s a pop concert and the queens share their stories to decide who suffered the most with Henry in order to decide who is lead singer. This is a Leo story to me. Leos are determined, confident, charismatic, and ambitious, just like the queens. And, like this story, they’re also creative. Leos can also come across as dominating and status seeking, just like the queens in their desire to be the lead.
If you’re a Virgo… you’re Hamilton!
Hamilton details the life of Alexander Hamilton, the founding father who never knew how to rest or take a break. Just like Virgos, the musical layout is so meticulously organized in a way to tell the best story. Alexander Hamilton is so many key Virgo traits: independent, headstrong, analytical, and ambitious to a fault. All at the expense of his emotional connection. Beyond that, most Virgos love facts, history, and science, and Hamilton comes in at two for three of those.

If you’re a Libra… you’re Aladdin!
Aladdin as a plot has perfect Libra vibes. Aladdin, the street rat, wants more from life than he is allowed. Princess Jasmine wants freedom to marry who she chooses. A lot of the plot centers around what is right, just, and fair, which are incredibly important to Libras. Then Genie comes in to level the playing field, just as Libras tend to do.

If you’re a Scorpio… you’re The Phantom of the Opera!
Scorpios are mysterious and love the drama, just like this musical. This show follows Christine Daaé, a chorus girl who replaces the resident soprano. She reveals to a friend that her talent is inspired by her tutor, the Angel of Music, that she’s never seen. The Phantom, meanwhile, quickly becomes obsessed with Christine and is insistent that she continues to get the leads in upcoming performances. Phantom is like Scorpio with his obsessive, possessive, and domineering personality. Christine is like Scorpio with caring personality, dedication, and intelligence. The mystery and tension between both are just right for Scorpio.

If you’re a Sagittarius… you’re Hadestown!
This musical tells a new version of the ancient Greek myth or Orpheus and Eurydice. It follows Eurydice, who, while looking for something to eat, goes into the underworld to escape climate-change induced poverty. Her poor singer-songwriter lover, Orpheus, rescues her and together they find a way to help others escape too. Sagittarius loves adventurous. They’re characterized by their honesty (to a fault), optimism, ambition, and recklessness. Not only would a Sagittarius like the musical, but it fits them.

If you’re a Capricorn… you’re Funny Girl!
The musical takes place in New York City around World War I. Early on, Fanny wants to be famous. She is dissuaded by others because she isn’t conventionally pretty, but she perseveres, just like Capricorn! Capricorns are practical, driven, and hardworking. The story continues to tell about her fame and romance. It is reflectionary and is her telling her story while she waits for her husband to return from prison. Capricorn is loyal, just like Fanny, and has a lot of love to give.
If you’re an Aquarius… you’re Harry Potter and the Cursed Child!
Aquariuses are quirky, different, and original, just like this play. The story takes place 19 years after the last book. Harry Potter is now the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic. His youngest son is about to attend Hogwarts. Like Aquarius, the story is eccentric, unpredictable, and chaotic.
If you’re a Pisces… you’re Into the Woods!
This musical is several Brother’s Grimm stories intertwined, which makes it perfect for creative and imaginative Pisces. Pisces’ empathy leads to connecting with multiple characters and being able to understand where they come from. Plus, a fantasy is perfect for escapist Pisces.
