‘Dunkirk’ and ‘Get Out’ Lead Eddie Awards Contenders

Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk and Jordan Peele’s Get Out were among the films nominated for the ACE Eddie Awards on Wednesday (03Jan18).

Members of America’s Association of Cinema Editors announced Dunkirk would compete with Blade Runner 2049, Molly’s Game, The Post and The Shape of the Water in the prestigious Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) category.

Meanwhile, the battle for the Best Edited Feature Film (Comedic) prize will pit Peele’s satirical horror against Baby Driver, I, Tonya, Lady Bird, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Coco, Despicable Me 3 and The Lego Batman Movie are nominated for Best Edited Animated Feature Film, while Cries From Syria, Jane, Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold and LA 92 are up for Best Edited Documentary (Feature).

Episodes of Big Little Lies, You Get What You Need, Game of Thrones, The Handmaid’s Tale, Stranger Things, Feud: Bette and Joan, Better Call Saul and Fargo are among the nominees in the various TV drama categories, while editors working on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Veep, Glow, Will & Grace, Black-ish, Portlandia, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend are all up for TV comedy prizes.

The 68th annual ACE Eddie Awards will take place on 26 January (18) at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
