Dunkirk remains on top at U.K. box office

Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk has racked up a fourth week at the top of the U.K. box office chart.

The British director’s World War II epic, which depicts Allied troops escape from the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940, made $3.35 million last weekend (11-13Aug17).

Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Harry Styles and Cillian Murphy all star in Nolan’s film, which is an early favorite in the betting for the Oscars.

New in second place is horror Annabelle: Creation, the fourth film in The Conjuring franchise, with $2.44 million.

Just behind in third with $2.19 million is Atomic Blonde, David Leitch’s spy thriller starring Charlize Theron and James McAvoy.

Critically panned animation The Emoji Movie drops to fourth with takings of $1.54 million, while rounding out the top five is Despicable Me 3. It made $965,00o.
