Rob Lowe Thanks His Wife As He Celebrates 25 Years Sober

Actor Rob Lowe marked a huge sobriety milestone on Sunday (10May15) as he celebrated 25 years clean.

The former The West Wing star was well known for his womanising ways and his heavy drinking and drug use during his youth, but he managed to kick his bad habits in 1990.

Lowe has since revisited his highs and lows in his 2011 autobiography, Stories I Only Tell My Friends, and its follow-up, Love Life, and this weekend, he shared a few words of advice for others trying to overcome addiction issues.

Taking to his Twitter.com page, the 51 year old wrote, “To those struggling with addiction, there is true, real, hope. Twenty-five years ago today, I found recovery and a life of promise. #Grateful.” He went on to give special thanks to his wife, Sheryl Berkoff, who he wed in 1991, as the anniversary of his sobriety fell on Mother’s Day in the U.S.

He added, “To @Sheryllowe61 and all the beautiful, dedicated, supportive and loving mothers out there: thank you and bless you. #LOVE”.
