Edward Norton accidentally landed a punch on his Fight Club co-star Brad Pitt during filming – and the scene made the final cut.
The 50-year-old actor revealed during an appearance on Monday’s (October 7, 2019) The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that when he awkwardly hit Brad in the ear during the film, both the punch and the reaction were real.
“It’s the first punch in the movie and I hit him in the ear,” Edward recalled. “(Director David) Fincher came up to me and said, ‘Hit him, connect with him somewhere.’ I didn’t know what to do and I hit him in the ear.”
Explaining how the scene made the final cut of the movie, the Primal Fear star added: “He says in the film: ‘Ow! Why the ear?’ Yeah, that was real!”
The hit comedy-drama will celebrate its 20th anniversary later this month.
