Golden Globe Awards Set to Air on CBS in 2024

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is out. NBC, who has broadcast the Golden Globes off and on since 1958, is also out. Changes have been made in time for the 81st Annual Golden Globes Awards.

The Golden Globes: A New Era

After years of controversy swirling around racial, ethical and financial woes, the HFPA, a 501(C)(6) has disbanded. The rights to the Golden Globe Awards® have been transferred to Dick Clark Productions (a property of Penske Media) and Eldridge Industries, a holding company owned by Todd Boehly. The awards will now be voted upon and bequeathed by a new for-profit organization.

Last year, Boehly told The Los Angeles Times that in order to make those in charge accountable, one must “transition the organization from a not-for-profit with no accountability and bad governance to an organization where there is employee-based accountability.”

The live three-hour show will be broadcast from 5:00 to 8:00 PM (PST) on CBS and stream on Paramount+ right after the NFL on CBS Sunday Doubleheader on January 7, 2024. It will also be available on the CBS app.

Pacific time zone stations will make a rebroadcast available immediately following the live presentation.
