‘Gossip Girl’ Revival Canceled at HBO Max After Two Seasons

This hot goss comes with some sad news, East Siders. It’s official – the highly-anticipated “Gossip Girl” revival has been canceled at HBO Max after just two seasons. Fans of the original series were excited to see the show return with a new generation of Upper East Siders and a new mystery to uncover.  It seems that the revival just couldn’t live up to the original’s success.

The Gossip Girl revival was first announced in 2019, with the original creators, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, returning to helm the project. This iteration of Gossip Girl takes place eight years after the original series ended, with a new generation of wealthy teens living in New York City’s elite Upper East Side. The revival promised to explore the impact of social media  and social surveillance on the lives of these privileged teens.

The series premiered on HBO Max in July 2020. The star-studded cast included Jordan Alexander, Emily Alyn Lind, Whitney Peak, Thomas Doherty, Grace Duah, Evan Mock, Zión Moreno, and Tavi Gevinson.

Despite the show receiving mixed reviews from critics, it was clear that fans of the original series were excited to see the return of the iconic characters and the familiar world of the Upper East Side.
