As I Lay Dying cancel tour dates following Tim Lambesis arrest

Rockers As I Lay Dying have axed their upcoming tour dates as frontman Tim Lambesis fights charges he attempted to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife. The star was charged with one count of solicitation to commit murder and one count of conspiracy to commit a crime earlier this month (May13) after reportedly seeking help from an undercover detective. It is alleged Lambesis gave the deputy posing as a hitman $1,000 (£645), the address of his wife’s home, and the key-code to the front door.
Lambesis, whose wife filed for divorce in September (12), was booked into California’s Vista Detention Facility and subsequently pleaded not guilty to the charges.
His bail was set at $3 million (£1.9 million) and the band has now decided to pull out of its North American shows with Killswitch Engage.
A statement from the group reads, “In light of recent events, As I Lay Dying will, unfortunately, not be taking part in the upcoming tour with Killswitch Engage. Given the circumstances, we feel that it is best for the band to be off the road while the current situation gets sorted. We’d like to thank all of our fans for their ongoing support at this difficult time.”
The rocker will be back in court on 10 June (13), and a preliminary hearing has been set for 10 July (13).
