It has now emerged the final details of the split settlement have been made official after Mendes transferred his share of the apartment they once owned in New York into his ex-wife’s name.
The former couple purchased the penthouse in Manhattan’s Chelsea district in 2004 for $4.9 million (£3.06 million) and city records, obtained by New York Post gossip column Page Six, show the property has now been handed over to Winslet.
They were married for seven years before their split and are parents to eight-year-old son, Joe. The Titanic star is also mother to a daughter, Mia, 11, from her first marriage to director Jim Threapleton.
