Twin Peaks co-creator: ‘No plans to revive show’

Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost has dismissed rumours suggesting director David Lynch is preparing to revive the cult TV series after a casting call for extras appeared online. The pair created the creepy town for the 1990 show, which revolved around an FBI investigation into the murder of a local teenager, and adapted it for the big screen with the 1992 film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, which served as a prequel for the TV programme following its axe in 1991.
Actor Ray Wise, who played Leland Palmer in the series, revealed last June (13) that Lynch was considering a return to Twin Peaks and it appeared he was moving forward with the idea after a casting call issued by representatives at Sande Alessi Casting in California recently emerged on the Internet.
The notice read: “Twin Peaks promo. Directed by David Lynch. Shoots in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Prob a 6 hour or less day. Rate is 150/8. You must live in LA to submit…
“Hot Caucasian girl – brunette or redheads only to play waitress. Age 18-27. Must have an amazing body. Busty, very period looking face.”
However, Frost has since taken to Twitter.com to debunk the claims, branding the report “another strange baseless rumor” and sharing a link to one of the false news articles.
