Amazon bosses snap up arresting new Harry Styles & Lily James film My Policeman

Harry Styles has given his acting career another big boost after signing up to star opposite Lily James in an adaptation of Brit Bethan Roberts’ novel My Policeman.

Tony and Olivier Award winner Michael Grandage will direct the Amazon project, while Oscar-nominee Ron Nyswaner will adapt the 2012 novel for the screen.

Production on the film, set in 1950s Brighton, England, is expected to begin next summer (2021).

Watermelon Sugar singer Styles made his feature film acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s World War Two epic Dunkirk, and just last week (ends September 11, 2020), he revealed he is stepping in to replace Shia LaBeouf in actress-turned-director Olivia Wilde’s new thriller Don’t Worry, Darling, which will also feature Florence Pugh and Chris Pine.

That film, which is also set in the 1950s – but this time in the California desert, is scheduled to begin filming later this year (2020).
