Warner Bros. is setting up Betty White to play the Big Man himself (or herself, rather). Jerry Weintraub, of the Ocean’s Eleven series, has been pitching a remake of 70’s comedy Oh, God for some time, but apparently no one cared until the meme-tastic White was added to the mix.
The original film, which starred George Burns and John Denver, follows the life of a supermarket manager who gets a message from God. While White takes over as the almighty, comedian Paul Rudd has been tapped for the potential prophet. There’s no script or director attached to the project yet, but I don’t doubt it will be rushed into production as soon as possible in order to capitalize on White’s sudden popularity. Hopefully the filmmakers will find a way to incorporate this line somehow:
