Guy Ritchie has signed up to direct a new movie retelling the legend of King Arthur.
The story of the British monarch, which has spawned numerous myths and fantasy tales, was previously the subject of a 2004 blockbuster starring Keira Knightley and Clive Owen.
Now the legend will be heading back to theaters in a new film directed by Ritchie, which will rework the story to show the sixth century ruler’s defeat of Saxon invaders.
The Warner Bros. movie will be based on Thomas Mallory’s Le Morte d’Arthur, a compilation of French and English tales from 1485, according to Variety.com.
