Trailer Mania: ‘Torino’, ‘Valentine’, ‘Underworld’

They say good things always come in threes and that’s definitely the case with the trio of trailers hitting the web today, thanks to Warner Bros, Lionsgate and Screen Gems.

First off we have Gran Torino, Clint Eastwood’s much-anticipated return to acting (his first-time in front of the camera since Million Dollar Baby). Eastwood plays a grumpy widower and war veteran who tries to reform his teenage neighbor Tao (Bee Vang) after the adolescent tries to steal his prized Gran Torino. The movie opens Dec. 17, 2008, just weeks after his latest directorial drama, The Changeling.

Next up is My Bloody Valentine 3-D, a modern twist on the 1981 horror classic about a deranged killer. The fright flick, in theaters Jan. 16, 2009, takes a surviving student named Tom (Jensen Ackles) back to his hometown on the 10th anniversary of the Valentines Day massacre. Bad idea – now the town taps Tom as the suspected killer.

Last but not least, it’s Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans. The origin story gives fans a look at the history behind the undead, including the vampire’s enslavement of the Lycans (werewolves) and the love story that caused them to rise up and break away from their masters. Expect familiar faces from the first two Underworld films like Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy and a few new ones too, including hottie Rhona Mitra when the movie opens Jan. 23, 2009.
