Lin-Manuel Miranda is set to join the cast of One Day At A Time for the show’s upcoming animated special.
The star will appear alongside returning guest cast members Gloria Estefan and Melissa Fumero for the animated iteration of the sitcom, in The Politics Episode, which was produced and developed remotely.
The idea came to life with the help of cartoonist Dave Kellett, who is the husband of the comedy’s creator Gloria Calderon Kellett.
The special will also feature regulars Rita Moreno, Stephen Tobolowsky, Todd Grinnell, Isabella Gomez, and Marcel Ruiz.
Filming of the fourth season of the series was suspended in March (2020) due to the coronavirus, with the show’s mid-season finale airing last month (April 2020).
The special will air on June 16th at 9:30 pm ET/PST on Pop TV.
